Fashion moves. Clothing stays. We have only ever been interested in the second one.

The atelier

A coat takes 112 hours

Most of that is not sewing. It is the cutting, the pressing, the resting of the cloth between each stage — the slow parts a factory removes first. We kept them, because they are the reason the shoulder still sits right in ten years.

Every piece leaves with a repair number stitched into the facing. Send it back frayed, torn or moth-bitten and we will mend it — no receipt, no time limit, no charge.

On Wearing

Against the seasonal wardrobe

Six pieces, worn for a decade, will always say more than sixty worn for a summer. A case for buying slowly.

On Repair

A coat is not finished when you buy it

Every Velore piece carries a repair number stitched into the facing. Send it back and we will mend it, for as long as you own it.

The list

Two letters a year

One when the collection lands, one when the cloth runs out. Nothing else — we find the alternative as tiresome as you do.
